Arsenal transfer news for January 2016

Arsenal are again interested in Portugal international William Carvalho as they try to solve their central midfield injury crisis but the difficulty of making a major signing in January means they are also focused on the available loan options.
Although manager Arsene Wenger was still saying on Thursday that he did not know exactly how long Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez would be out following their injuries against Norwich on Sunday. The initial prognosis is around four months for Cazorla and four weeks for Sanchez.

With Mikel Arteta already sidelined indefinitely with another calf injury, Francis Coquelin out for three months with knee ligament damage, Jack Wilshere still recovering from a fractured fibula and Aaron Ramsey only just available again following a groin injury, the problems in central midfield have suddenly become acute.

Carvalho is a player of previous interest to Wenger and has a buy-out clause from Sporting Lisbon that is set at £35 million.

Alexis Sanchez is also on Arsenal's long injury list
It is believed that the 23-year-old defensive midfielder could be available for closer to £25 million although Sporting, who are currently top of the Portuguese league will be reluctant to sell in January.
Another major consideration is his lack of football this season after he fractured his tibula during a summer in which he shone at the European Under-21 Championships. Carvalho did still outline an interest in joining Arsenal earlier this season.
“I am where I want to be right now, which is Sporting but if I ever leave then it’s a sign that my work here is done,” he said. “I dream of winning the Primeira Liga here. I prefer not to say too much but there is a club with which I’ve always been fond of: Arsenal.”

Wenger says There are six title contenders

Arsène Wenger believes there are several teams that can challenge for this season's Premier League title.
Arsenal currently sit in fourth position, but are just two points behind league leaders Manchester City and two ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham.

Wenger thinks the key to remaining in a “difficult” title race is to be consistent - starting with Saturday's visit of Sunderland.
“For a spell where we got only two points from our last three games, we are only two points off the top,” he said.
“But if you look at the whole pack it is very tight and very compact and that means everybody can deliver the same speech basically.
“You look across the league and every game is difficult for everybody. It is down to consistency. We have gone through a spell that has been a bit difficult for us but I believe we are in there and it’s down to how well we respond.
“I’m convinced that we will respond very well. Mathematically, maybe 10 to 12 [can win the title]. Realistically, about six.”

Arsene Says ' Ramsey has a chance'

Arsène Wenger says Aaron Ramsey has a “good opportunity” to establish himself in the centre of midfield over the coming months.
With Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla both sidelined through injury, the Wales international is expected to return to his favoured position against Sunderland.
Wenger says he has not finalised his plans for Saturday’s game, but says Ramsey and Calum Chambers are both in contention after the latter completed 90 minutes for the under-21s on Monday.
“It is a possibility [for Ramsey], yes,” the manager said. “For him it is a good opportunity if he plays there, that is where he prefers to play. I can use [Chambers there too] if needed, he can play there.”
After a disappointing run of results in November, Wenger hopes to see his side return to form against Sunderland - although he expects a tough game.

It is very difficult [against these teams] and we have just seen that at Norwich and West Brom, where we had about 70 per cent possession in the two games,” he said. “In the two games together we had four shots against us and conceded three goals, so that shows it is difficult.
“We face a team on Saturday that has recently taken points, is well organised and has gone to a very strong defensive system under Sam Allardyce. They have gained some confidence in their system so we expect a tough game.
“It is important [to be back at the Emirates] because we feel strong at home and we have the support of our fans. We have had two very physical, very difficult away games and we were a bit unlucky. The comfort to play at home is important.”

Well Done EA!

The thing that i love about EA is these so called price ranges. ' It will make the game more fair', they say, no it just doesn't.

They are like lets be banterlords and change the price ranges which completely goes against the point of having them.
Secondly, the fact that they've banned the selling of coins and are encouraging people to buy fifa points, which are ridiculously over priced and the fact that you literally get nothing. You would think after spending 30-40 euro on fifa points you would at least get something, no non rare silvers is what you want in these sort of packs. At least adjust the pack weighting so you aren't completely wasting your money.
Thirdly, how incredibly good the game is, when your opposition actually has 0 shots and you have about 20 yet he is still winning 1-0. When your goalkeeper comes out of his goal to head the ball away and completely misses it and it runs into an empty goal, you begin to question the game.
